In order to develop the preliminary design of the Genoa Harbour Submarine Tunnel Preliminary Design, an inter-disciplinary team was formed to analyze all technical, transport and environmental issues leading to the selection of the best tunnel solution. The project included the design of the connections to the city road system, two twin bored tunnels, an underground parking, the relocation of the naval repair industry and surface roads.
